Vermont Counseling Network is excited to host an educational event for mental health providers in collaboration with the Vermont Small Business Law Center (SBLC).

The SBLC is dedicated to empowering small businesses and entrepreneurs across Vermont by providing access to essential legal services. Their comprehensive support includes educational consultations, attorney referrals, public educational events, and legal education materials. By collaborating with a network of lawyers, students, and community partners, the SBLC ensures that small business owners receive the legal expertise necessary to start, grow, and transition their businesses successfully.

Key Services Offered by the SBLC:

  • Individual Educational Consultations – Business owners can meet with legal experts to address specific legal questions and concerns.
  • Paid Attorney Referrals – The SBLC facilitates connections between businesses and attorneys, covering up to ten hours of legal services at no cost to the business owner.
  • Public Educational Events – In collaboration with incubators, accelerators, and community partners, the SBLC offers group legal educational sessions tailored to local businesses.
  • Legal Education Materials – The center provides resources designed to help business owners navigate legal decisions and understand pertinent laws.

In the past year, the SBLC has responded to 296 requests for legal information, matched 131 businesses with attorneys, conducted 163 individual educational consultations, and delivered 54 legal educational presentations.

By offering these services, the Vermont Small Business Law Center plays a pivotal role in strengthening Vermont's entrepreneurial community and contributing to the state’s long-term economic development.
